June 17, 2024, was an unforgettable day at KOKO Coffee’s State Street location. Fresh off his concert in Boston the night before, Niall Horan strolled through the city and happened upon our coffee shop. Accompanied by his team, he decided to sit down at our outdoor seating area, ready to enjoy a relaxing morning.

At first, no one recognized the international pop star. However, two teenage customers quickly identified him and approached for a picture. This interaction caught the attention of our marketing intern, a long-time One Direction fan, who was stunned to see her idol in person. She eagerly asked Niall for a picture, and he kindly obliged, holding his oat iced latte with a warm smile.

After enjoying his drink and the peaceful atmosphere, Niall and his team left, but the excitement was far from over. Our marketing intern, inspired by the incredible encounter, decided to commemorate the moment in a unique way. She grabbed the chair Niall had been sitting on and, with a paper bag and marker, dubbed it the “Niall Horan Chair.”

The makeshift sign immediately attracted attention. Curious customers asked about the chair, and our intern proudly shared the story and the photo proof of Niall’s visit. Word spread quickly, and the chair became a significant point of interest, drawing in fans and curious visitors alike.

For several days, the excitement continued, with people flocking to see the now-famous chair. It has since become a beloved feature of KOKO Coffee, and who knows, it might even become a Boston landmark one day.
